Start It Up is looking for a skilled WordPress Backend Developer to join our team at West Land Trade Center, P.E.C.H Block 2, Karachi. The ideal candidate will have expertise in custom plugin development, database optimization, and high-performance solutions. You will collaborate closely with the front-end team to ensure seamless integration and maintain the technical integrity of our WordPress platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain custom WordPress themes and plugins.
- Implement complex backend functionalities using WordPress hooks, actions, and filters.
- Optimize WordPress websites for speed, scalability, and performance.
- Manage and maintain relational databases, write efficient MySQL queries, and perform database migrations.
- Integrate third-party APIs and develop RESTful APIs for internal applications.
- Implement WordPress security best practices across all projects.
- Troubleshoot and resolve backend issues, performance bottlenecks, and bugs.
- Collaborate with the front-end team to ensure seamless user experience.
- Handle cloud server deployments, manage server environments, and maintain hosting solutions.
- Perform website migrations with minimal downtime and data loss.
- Write clean, efficient, and modular PHP code while adhering to WordPress coding standards.
- Stay updated with the latest WordPress technologies, tools, and best practices.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Proven experience as a WordPress Backend Developer with a strong portfolio of backend projects.
- Expertise in developing and customizing WordPress themes and plugins.
- Strong proficiency in PHP, MySQL, and relational database design.
- In-depth understanding of WordPress core architecture, hooks, filters, and actions.
- Experience with API development and integration (RESTful APIs).
- Hands-on experience with cloud server environments and deployments.
- Familiarity with website migrations and DNS configuration.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues.
- Proficiency in using version control systems such as Git.
- Knowledge of performance optimization techniques (caching, database optimization, etc.).
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
