Description:
We are currently hiring truck dispatchers for our organization. Your responsibilities include:
Dispatching Operations:
- Coordinate the scheduling and dispatching of truck drivers for pickup and delivery of goods.
- Assign routes and loads to drivers based on factors such as delivery requirements, vehicle capacity, and driver availability.
- Monitor driver activities and provide support and guidance as needed throughout their shifts.
Communication and Coordination:
- Communicate with drivers, customers, and internal teams to ensure smooth operations and timely deliveries.
- Provide drivers with necessary information, such as routes, traffic conditions, and delivery instructions.
- Address any issues or delays that arise during transportation and implement solutions to minimize disruptions.
Route Planning and Optimization:
- Plan efficient routes for drivers to maximize productivity and minimize fuel consumption and vehicle wear and tear.
- Utilize routing software or GPS systems to identify the most cost-effective and time-efficient routes.
- Adjust routes in real-time based on changing circumstances, such as traffic congestion or road closures.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of dispatch activities, including driver assignments, load details, and delivery times.
- Generate reports on key performance metrics, such as on-time delivery rates and driver productivity.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies regarding documentation and reporting.
Customer Service:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for customers regarding delivery status, scheduling changes, and other inquiries.
- Address customer concerns or complaints promptly and work to resolve issues to their satisfaction.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with customers to foster loyalty and repeat business.
Emergency Response and Problem-Solving:
- Respond to emergencies or unforeseen events, such as accidents or breakdowns, by coordinating alternative transportation solutions or assistance for drivers.
- Troubleshoot logistical challenges and proactively identify opportunities to improve efficiency and customer service.
