Description:
This is a full-time on-site role for a System Engineer. The System Engineer will be responsible for troubleshooting, system administration, technical support, system design, and management of IT infrastructure solutions. The System Engineer will also be responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the GCS IT Help Desk.
Responsibilities:
- Gather client requirements, assess, and design system architecture/solutions as per requirement
- Install, configure, and maintain system hardware such as servers, SAN, backup appliances, and other system equipment.
- Hyper-V and VMWare according to the client’s needs.
- Effectively maintain virtual infrastructure resource management and performance.
- Implement and maintain disaster recovery, fault tolerance, and fallback solutions for the virtual environment.
- Implement and maintain DRS and vMotion features for the virtual environment.
- Effectively design, implement, and maintain the network in a virtual environment.
- Implement and maintain network farms, storage farms, and server farm switches.
- Install and upgrade computer components and software, manage virtual servers, and integrate automation
- Effectively troubleshoot hardware/server errors and fix them according to the client’s needs.
- Ensure the required RAID is configured in all servers as per business needs.
- Ensure domain controls, forest environment (ADCs, RODCs) implementation, and effective maintenance.
- Ensure effective maintenance of active directory services
- Effectively integrate on-prem active directory with Azure AD.
- Implement and maintain access rights matrix according to client’s needs.
- Effectively update user information and access rights on their onboarding, offboarding, and transfer to other departments.
- Manage complex domain environment i.e., domain controllers, ADS, RODCs, Azure AD, active directory, in multi-site and on-prem & cloud environment, etc.
- Troubleshoot hardware and software errors by running diagnostics, documenting problems and resolutions, prioritizing problems, and assessing the impact of issues.
- Provide documentation and technical specifications to IT staff for planning and implementing new or upgrades of IT infrastructure.
- Take necessary measures for capacity, storage planning, and database performance.
- Diagnose and resolve infrastructure-related issues in all areas such as hardware, software, networking, and system issues
- Timely upgrade hardware and software on the required frequency with the client’s approval.
- Timely update/upgrade of all servers and other equipment patches and firmware.
- Monitoring system performance to ensure everything runs smoothly and securely.
- Implement security measures and deploy necessary security policies using server/domain security policies.
- Implement required group policies and monitor their effectiveness.

Skills and Experience desired
- 5+ years of IT or related experience.
- Professional IT Certifications, such as Microsoft MCP, MCSA, or MCSE, Citrix CCEA or CCIA, SonicWALL CSSA, ConnectWise CCPA, LabTech LTCP, Cisco CCNA, or VMware VCP preferred.
- BS IT / CS or a related field preferred.
- Interpersonal skills: such as telephony skills, communication skills, active listening, and customer care.
- Diagnosis skills of technical issues.
- Ability to multi-task and adapt to changes quickly.
- Technical awareness: ability to match resources to technical issues appropriately.
- Service awareness of all organization’s key IT services for which support is provided.
- Understanding of support tools, techniques, and how technology is used to provide IT services.
- Typing skills to ensure quick and accurate entry of service request details.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work in a fast-moving environment.
