Student Services Coordinator

 

Description:

The Student Services Coordinator will play a pivotal role in ensuring an exceptional student experience by supporting academic, social, and administrative aspects of student life. The position involves engaging with students, resolving their concerns, and coordinating services to foster an inclusive, supportive, and thriving campus environment.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Student Support Services:
  • Serve as the first point of contact for student inquiries and concerns, providing accurate information and guidance.
  • Assist students in navigating university resources, policies, and procedures.
  • Address student grievances promptly and escalate unresolved issues to the appropriate department.
  • Event Coordination:
  • Organize and support events such as orientation sessions, workshops, career fairs, and cultural activities to enhance student engagement.
  • Collaborate with faculty and administrative staff to ensure smooth execution of events.
  • Academic Assistance:
  • Support students in understanding course requirements, registration processes, and academic resources.
  • Coordinate with academic advisors and faculty members to resolve student academic issues.
  • Student Well-Being:
  • Promote mental health and wellness programs in collaboration with relevant departments.
  • Facilitate access to counseling services and provide a safe space for students to share concerns.
  • Administration and Documentation:
  • Maintain accurate records of student interactions, grievances, and resolutions.
  • Prepare reports and updates on student service activities for university management.
  • Campus Communication:
  • Serve as a liaison between students, faculty, and administrative departments.
  • Regularly update students about university policies, events, and important deadlines.
  • Scholarships and Financial Assistance:
  • Assist students in understanding eligibility criteria and application processes for scholarships and financial aid programs.
  • Coordinate with the finance department to streamline the process for approved cases.
  • Policy Compliance:
  • Ensure adherence to university policies and procedures in all student interactions and services.
  • Participate in policy reviews to improve the quality of student services.

 

Qualifications and Skills

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Education, Management, Social Sciences, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in student services, academic advising, or a related role.
  • Skills:
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and student information systems.
  • Problem-solving skills with a student-centered approach.
  • Ability to work effectively in a diverse and dynamic environment.
