Description:
We are seeking an experienced Structural Engineer to undertake design development and delivery of our projects. The successful candidate will work closely with other team members and external consultants to ensure the delivery of exceptional design solutions that align with our brand vision. This is a remote role, offering the flexibility to collaborate with our UK-based team from abroad however the successful candidate will need to have a very good understanding of UK Building Regulations and prior experience of working on development projects in the UK.
Key Responsibilities
- Designing and detailing structural solutions that are safe, economical, practical and sustainable in accordance to the British codes and standards.
- Successfully carrying out structural calculations, analysis and modelling.
- Effectively communicating through sketches, drawings, digital modelling, calculations, meetings, presentations, discussions, emails, written reports and electronic messages.
- Working as part of a team on interesting projects large and small to achieve a coordinated design solution that meets the Clients objectives.
- Undertaking structural engineering assessment of new and existing properties in steel, concrete, masonry and timber.
- Producing good quality technical drawings which can form part of the Construction drawings pack.
- Working effectively and collaboratively with teams.
- Stay updated on industry trends, codes, and regulations to ensure best practices are followed.
- Learning design methods, codes of practice, software and construction techniques.
Required Skills & Experience
- Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master's preferred).
- Experience:
- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in structural engineering, with a focus on residential or mixed-use developments.
- Experience with modular construction or lightweight steel frame systems is a plus.
- Technical Proficiency:
- Proficient in structural analysis software such as ETABS, SAP2000, STAAD.Pro, or similar tools.
- Familiarity with BIM software (e.g., Revit).
