Structural Design Engineer

Description:

This position is responsible for project structural engineering and supporting design and research for the structural systems utilized in prefabricated construction activities. This is an important position that will require innovative design skills and a keen sense of technical detail coupled with strong communication skills.

Required Skills and Experience

· Requires bachelor’s degree in civil/Structural Engineering.

· Requires 2-4 years of structural engineering/design experience including experience on hot-rolled steel, and light gauge steel projects.

· Proficient knowledge of hot/cold steel structural systems.

· Proficient understanding of the US Design Codes.

· Proficiency in any major structural engineering finite element analysis software required; proficiency in calculation utility software is preferred.

· Experience in FrameCAD or Vertex BD is preferred but not required.

· Must possess strengths in verbal and written communications; ability to adapt communications/presentations and deliver clear and concise reports and analysis to senior management.

· Requires the ability to be self-motivated, work independently with minimal supervision, and manage junior Structural and Architectural Designers.
