Staff Engineer – Full Stack (python/django & React)

Description:

Cogent Labs is seeking an experienced Full Stack Engineer to join its Lahore office. This role requires a highly skilled professional with expertise in Python/Django for backend development and React for frontend applications. The ideal candidate will be responsible for building, maintaining, and optimizing scalable web applications while ensuring high performance and responsiveness.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain robust web applications using Python/Django and React.
• Design and integrate RESTful APIs into frontend applications.
• Work with relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL.
• Implement responsive design principles for cross-browser compatibility and optimized performance.
• Utilize Git and version control workflows for efficient development.
• Deploy and manage applications on cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile development environment.
• Continuously improve codebase and adopt modern best practices in software development.

Must-Have Skills:

✔ Strong proficiency in Python and Django for backend development.
✔ Extensive experience with React and modern frontend technologies (JavaScript, ES6+, HTML5, CSS3).
✔ Experience with RESTful APIs and frontend-backend integration.
✔ Familiarity with relational databases (PostgreSQL/MySQL).
✔ Version control expertise (Git, GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket).
✔ Solid understanding of web performance optimization and responsive design.
✔ Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).

Good to Have:

• Experience with Docker and containerized applications.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines for automated deployments.
• Exposure to additional backend technologies beyond Python/Django.
