Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Solutions Manager to lead our Data Insights team within the Professional Services business unit. This role involves overseeing a talented team focused on developing custom reports, dashboards, and data pipelines and providing SQL querying assistance to our customers. This position is responsible for career development and performance tracking of direct reports, and effectively prioritizing day-to-day services operations, identifying new data services to help grow Motive’s business. Effective communication is key as you will work closely with stakeholder teams creating strong working relationships with and influencing across partnerships, product management, engineering, sales, customer success, and support.
What You’ll Do
- Lead and manage a technical services team that interfaces directly with customers.
- Provide guidance and support in SQL querying and data analysis.
- Ensure team alignment with company goals and customer needs.
- Drive innovation and continuous improvement in data insights and analytics.
- Foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment.
- Understand and anticipate the needs of our customers. Effectively prioritize customer requests by working closely with customers, sales, and customer success.
- Communicate, collaborate, and work effectively across cross-functional teams to prioritize the company needs and drive company-wide, large-scale projects
- Mentor and grow engineers by aligning individual’s ambitions with Motive strategic initiatives.
- Grow the efficiency of existing organizational processes and procedures to enhance and sustain the internal capacity.
What We’re Looking For
- Minimum 8 years of experience in data engineering, with at least 4 years in a leadership role managing customer-facing engineering teams.
- Strong background in data analysis, business intelligence, or a related field.
- Proficient in SQL, Python, and experience with data visualization tools.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor technical teams.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on customer service.
- Proven track record of managing complex projects and delivering results.

- Strong negotiation skills with the ability to make trade-off decisions
- Ability to analyze KPIs to determine the root causes behind changes, and provide recommendations as needed.
