Simpaisa – a Fintech company is offering a full-time position as a SQA Engineer, to join our expanding team. The successful candidate can expect to gain a broad range of experience. You will be responsible for developing test cases & test scenarios. This position requires strategic thinking and technical skills, as well as a practical and proactive approach to problem solving.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, document, and execute comprehensive test cases and test scenarios.
- Perform functional, regression, and integration testing to ensure software meets specified requirements.
- Use MySQL to create and manage test data, execute queries, and validate data integrity.
- Create detailed and clear documentation for test cases, workflows, and defect reports.
- Maintain and update documentation to reflect changes in software and testing procedures.
- Review and understand code to assist in creating relevant test scenarios.
- Collaborate with developers to identify and resolve issues and ensure adherence to coding standards.
- Identify, document, and track defects, working closely with development teams to ensure timely resolution.
- Re-test fixes and verify that issues are resolved as expected.
- Understand the product from a user perspective to ensure that testing aligns with user requirements and expectations.
- Provide feedback on product usability and suggest improvements to enhance user experience.
- Contribute to the improvement of QA processes and practices.
- Stay current with industry trends and best practices to incorporate into testing strategies.
- Utilize test case management tools such as JIRA and Confluence for managing and documenting test cases and defects.
- Perform basic performance testing to assess the efficiency and scalability of the application.
- Apply basic knowledge of automation to enhance testing processes where applicable.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 2 to 3 years of experience in QA engineering or a related role.
- Proficiency in MySQL and experience with writing and executing complex queries.
- Basic understanding of coding and ability to review and analyze code.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Excellent skills in creating and maintaining detailed test documentation and workflows.
- Product-oriented mindset with a focus on delivering high-quality user experiences.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate issues and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
