A diversified and newly re-structured shipbrokerage group is seeking to capitalise on the wealth of experience nestled in the historic city of Athens as they build a dry bulk/dry cargo shipbrokerage dreamteam (a la Euro 2004). With an excellent market reputation, a new brand and more experience at the helm, this is a rare opportunity for shipbrokers operating across the dry cargo/dry bulk space who want to be part of a newly formed and market-leading shipbrokerage team from day zero.

Managing a multitude of ship sizes/classes from Handymax through to Panamax and beyond, there are a number of niche areas to be covered within this newly created team; and we would love to speak to you if you are currently working on a competitive desk, with a desire to be part of a new build-out, and grow from the early stages of a shipbroking office.

You will have the opportunity to segment and own areas of the market, in your preferred niche, whilst working with the international team on overall diversification and market capture of the dry bulk/dry cargo desk. You will be part of an exciting opportunity to take a brand that has been an ongoing success story in Northern Europe, APAC and the Middle East and unleash it on the relatively untouched Asia market with a team of hand-picked brokerage demigods around you as you build the brand, reputation and market share across the region.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for managing and developing client base within the Dry Bulk & Dry Cargo chartering sector across Shipowners/Charterers, Trading Houses, Producers and Commodity Logistics/Supply Chain corporates in and around the Asia region
• Negotiate Spot and Time charters across multiple vessel classes (Handymax, Panamax, Supramax etc) to maximise revenues
• Charter broker both competitive and exclusive dry bulk and dry cargo ship brokerage business within various geographical markets promoting the businesses services to customers and new clients
• Negotiate/close new charter party contracts ensuring all relevant documentations are complete with all company standards and procedures being adhered to
• Liaise with operations and internal/external counterparties to remedy any issues arising on the dry cargo desk
• Identify new market opportunities within the dry bulk/dry cargo and dry charter sector maintaining a handle on industry news and market analysis to execute global business development strategies

We would love to speak to you if you have:

• 3+ years’ experience within a Ship Brokerage focused on the Dry Cargo Charter desk across various vessel classes (Handymax, Panamax, Supramax etc)
• A successful track record of developing and closing business within the Dry Cargo space with existing client relations across the region
• Strong understanding of Charter party agreements and documentations with the ability to review and negotiate terms of business with customers
• A deep understanding of the Dry Cargo/Dry Bulk sector, ability to analyse and produce in depth market reports highlighting trends and pricing data both internally and externally with customers.
• Proficient and effective communication skills in English and any other Asian languages
