Server Management Specialist

 

Description:

As a Part-Time AWS Server Management Specialist, you will be responsible for overseeing our AWS cloud infrastructure. Your primary role will be to ensure that our servers are running efficiently, securely and reliably. You will work closely with our development and operations teams to implement best practices, troubleshoot issues, and ensure that our cloud environment supports our business objectives.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

1- (AWS Server Management):

- Manage, monitor, and maintain AWS servers, including EC2 instances, S3, RDS, and other AWS services.

- Optimize server performance, including CPU, memory, and storage utilization.

- Implement and manage auto-scaling to ensure resources are available as needed.

 

2- (Security Management):

- Implement and maintain security protocols, including IAM roles, security groups, and network ACLs.

- Regularly review and update security policies to protect against unauthorized access and threats.

- Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments.

 

3- (Backup and Disaster Recovery):

- Implement and manage backup strategies to ensure data integrity and availability.

- Develop and test disaster recovery plans to ensure business continuity.

 

4- (Cost Management):

- Monitor and optimize AWS costs, identifying areas for potential savings.

- Implement cost-effective solutions without compromising performance or security.

 

5- (Automation and Scripting):

- Develop and maintain automation scripts using AWS CLI, CloudFormation, and other tools.

- Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to manage and deploy AWS resources efficiently.

 

6- (Monitoring and Troubleshooting):

- Set up and maintain monitoring tools such as CloudWatch, to track performance and detect issues.

- Troubleshoot and resolve server-related issues promptly to minimize downtime.

 

7- (Collaboration and Documentation):

- Work closely with development, operations, and security teams to align server management with business goals.

- Document all processes, configurations, and procedures for easy reference and knowledge sharing.

 

8- (Continuous Improvement):

- Stay up-to-date with the latest AWS developments and best practices.

- Propose and implement improvements to enhance efficiency, security, and performance.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

• AWS Certified Solutions Architect or AWS Certified SysOps Administrator preferred.
• Strong understanding of AWS services including EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, IAM, and CloudFormation.
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
• Experience with monitoring and logging tools like CloudWatch, ELK Stack, or Splunk.
• Knowledge of networking fundamentals, including VPC, subnets, and routing.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a remote environment.

 

EXPERIENCE:

Minimum of 3-5 years of experience managing AWS cloud environments is required.
