Server Hardware Engineer

Description:

Hospicare Systems is seeking an experienced Server Hardware Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for server refurbishing, testing, troubleshooting, and on-site technical support.

Key Responsibilities:

🔧 Server Refurbishing & Quality Control: Oversee testing, grading, and refurbishing of enterprise servers.
🛠 On-Site Hardware Support: Provide troubleshooting and technical support for server-related hardware at customer locations.
💻 Firewall & Switches Testing: Diagnose and resolve faults in firewalls and network switches, repairing or replacing parts as needed.
⚙️ Server Testing & Performance Benchmarking: Conduct detailed performance assessments to ensure reliability and quality.
📌 Component-Level Diagnostics: Identify and resolve faults in CPU, RAM, storage, RAID controllers, and power supplies.
💾 Storage & OS Deployment: Configure RAID setups, install OS (Linux, Windows Server, VMware), and optimize storage solutions.
📋 Inventory & Documentation: Maintain records of refurbished units, component replacements, and quality grading reports.
👥 Collaboration & Training: Work with the team and assist in training junior staff in server diagnostics and refurbishing techniques.

Requirements:

✅ 5+ years of experience in server support, data center operations, or enterprise IT infrastructure.
✅ Strong expertise in server hardware, switches, firewalls, RAID configurations, and performance tuning.
✅ Hands-on experience with Windows Server, Linux (Ubuntu, CentOS, Red Hat), and virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V).
✅ Familiarity with major server brands like Dell, HP, and Lenovo.
✅ Ability to conduct detailed server testing, performance benchmarking, and grading.
✅ Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
✅ Excellent English communication skills for customer interactions.
✅ Willingness to commute out of the city for on-site support.
