Description:
The Senior Manager – Banking and Treasury will be responsible for overseeing the company's banking operations, treasury functions, and ensuring compliance with export and taxation laws in Pakistan. This role involves managing cash flow, optimizing banking relationships, implementing effective treasury policies, and ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in treasury management, banking operations, and a solid understanding of export and taxation laws. This role is pivotal in ensuring the company's financial operations are efficient and compliant with regulatory requirements, especially in the dynamic environment of banking, treasury, export, and taxation in Pakistan.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Banking Operations:
- Manage and optimize the company’s banking relationships and negotiate terms for loans, credit facilities, and other financial instruments.
- Oversee day-to-day banking operations, including account management, fund transfers, and reconciliation of bank statements.
- Monitor and manage banking fees, charges, and transactions to ensure cost-effectiveness.
2. Treasury Management:
- Develop and implement treasury policies and procedures to ensure efficient cash management and liquidity.
- Forecast cash flow requirements and manage short-term and long-term liquidity to support business operations.
- Implement cash management strategies to maximize returns on investments and minimize financial risks.
3. Export Management:
- Ensure compliance with export regulations and documentation requirements, including letters of credit, export financing, and customs regulations.
- Collaborate with the export team to optimize cash flow from international transactions and manage foreign exchange risks.
- Monitor export-related financial performance and provide recommendations for improvement.
4. Taxation Compliance:
Ensure compliance with local and international taxation laws, including VAT, corporate tax, and other relevant taxes.
- Oversee the preparation and submission of tax returns and reports to regulatory authorities.
- Provide guidance on tax planning and optimization strategies to minimize tax liabilities.
5. Reporting and Analysis:
- Prepare and present reports on cash flow, banking activities, and treasury performance to senior management.
- Conduct financial analysis to support decision-making processes and identify areas for improvement.
- Monitor and report on changes in banking and taxation regulations and assess their impact on the company.
6. Risk Management:
- Identify and assess financial risks related to banking, treasury, and export activities.
- Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to safeguard the company’s assets and financial stability.
- Ensure effective internal controls are in place to prevent fraud and financial mismanagement.
7. Team Leadership:
- Lead and mentor a team of finance professionals, providing guidance and support to achieve departmental goals.
- Foster a collaborative and productive work environment, encouraging professional development and continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. A Master’s degree or professional qualification (CA, ACCA, ACMA, CIMA, CFA, etc) is preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in banking, treasury management, or financial services, with at least 5 years in a managerial role.
- Proven experience in handling export operations and knowledge of export regulations and compliance.
- Strong understanding of Pakistani taxation laws and regulations.
Skills:
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
- Strong knowledge of financial instruments, banking operations, and treasury management practices.
- Proficient in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Exceptional communication and negotiation skills.
- SAP A1/SAP S4HANA experience shall be preferred
