Responsibilities
Reporting to the Chair, you will be responsible as a lead for the overall management of the department. This includes, but is not limited to the following responsibilities:
- Develop and execute strategic and annual plans, focusing on enhancing patient care services within the Obstetrics & Gynaecology department.
- Ensure the achievement of departmental goals, overseeing day-to-day operational activities for optimal efficiency.
- Monitor and manage the department's budgets, goals, strategies, volumes, and revenues.
- Establish and maintain dashboards utilizing various data sources, tracking relevant Key Performance Indicators for Obstetrics and Gynaecology output and efficiency.
- Formulate formal proposals, feasibilities, policies, pathways, documentation tools, and educational materials as needed.
- Collaborate with leadership to assess future needs and growth, ensuring the availability of necessary resources.
- Design and implement service expansion plans with sustainable outcomes, coordinating with multidisciplinary support services.
- Facilitate communication and coordination with hospital teams for future services and infrastructure development at the institutional level.
- Analyze and recommend solutions for complex issues where policies and procedures may not be clearly defined.
- Maintain and analyze quality assurance, complaint/incident reports data, implementing corrective and preventive measures for improvement.
- Review the Patient Satisfaction Index and implement continuous improvement measures.
- Ensure adequate staffing coverage and implement developmental plans to foster continuous learning and staff development.
- Contribute to the department's quality initiatives and implement quality standards in line with JCIA requirements.
Requirements
To qualify for the role, you should possess the following:
- An MBA degree in Healthcare Management, or equivalent from a reputable university; an MBBS degree would be an added advantage.
- A minimum of 8-10 years of relevant experience (ideally in the healthcare sector), with at least three years in a senior management role.
- Experience in operational management, analysis of budget variance reports, and statistical data.
- Display proficiency in developing and maintaining data dashboards, along with a strong understanding of resource management, including financial management.
- Showcase excellent negotiation skills and a solid grasp of marketing principles.
- Demonstrate the ability to cultivate, maintain, and strengthen partnerships with stakeholders to ensure the delivery of exemplary patient care services.
- Possess outstanding interpersonal skills and the acumen to function as an entrepreneur.
- Exhibit the capability to work effectively under pressure, meeting stringent deadlines.
- Willingness to travel as per business requirements.
