The Team: GTAS Forecasting Team cooperates with ECR’s Model and Scenarios Team is responsible for the development and maintenance of international trade forecast models as well as the development and maintenance of a suite of models that underpin our economic forecasts. The team is also responsible for the written analysis of recent trends in trade and production of trade outlooks and creation and productizing of scenario analysis across the ECR organization. The team is looking to develop new analytical tools to expand forecast coverage, create scenario forecasts and widen collaborations across S&P Global.

Our team helps provide the analytic frameworks for those insights through economic models, and use those models to develop alternative scenarios that help our clients understand and quantify the risks they face. Our GTAS platform is the market-leading solution for access to a comprehensive view of global trade historical and forecast data in every commodity.

Responsibilities

• Cooperating with Data Scientist Team to check and improve processing of trade data
• Benchmarking, validating and implementing changes to the database
• Writing analysis based on created database concerning anticipated international trade development, reports and technical white papers for consulting purposes, scenario development and documentation
• Support the operations of ECR’s models and work with them as needed
• Run, under supervision, basic ad-hoc econometric models
• Presentations of forecasting solutions to potential clients
• Develop scenario analysis using existing models and/or new ad-hoc models
• Build programs to automate model maintenance and run quality checks
