Senior Database Administrator

Description:

Amigo Software is looking for an experienced Senior Database Administrator (SQL Server) to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the availability, scalability, and security of our database systems while optimizing performance and enhancing operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure availability, scalability, and performance of database systems.

• Collaborate with the Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) team on production changes and incident mitigation.

• Implement data security measures such as encryption, user authentication, and access control.

• Monitor database performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize queries to enhance system efficiency.

• Plan and manage database infrastructure capacity to support growth.

• Work with development and infrastructure teams to improve performance and observability of various database services.

• Administer and troubleshoot SQL databases, including security patching, SQL tuning, capacity planning, and schema design.

• Develop and implement processes to minimize downtime and database outages.

• Automate routine maintenance, monitoring, and deployment procedures.

• Design optimized database schemas and views for effective data storage and retrieval.

Requirements & Skills:

• BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

• 10+ years of experience with relational databases in production environments, particularly SQL Server (SQL Server 2019+).

• Expertise in SQL, query optimization, and data security.

• Proven track record of designing, building, and maintaining large-scale databases.

• Strong understanding of data modeling and structure design.

• Proficiency in SQL Server Reporting.

• Excellent problem-solving abilities and troubleshooting skills for distributed systems.
