- Data Extraction & Crawling: Automate the collection of geospatial and mapping data from APIs, databases, and web sources using tools like Selenium, Scrapy, or custom scripts.
- Data Cleaning: Ensure the quality and consistency of location-based datasets by handling missing, incorrect, or inconsistent data through advanced cleaning techniques.
- Data Preparation & Aggregation: Structure, organize, and aggregate geospatial data for use in xMap’s mapping and AI-driven analysis tools.
- Data Manipulation: Sort, filter, and transform geographic datasets to provide actionable insights for xMap’s platform and clients.
- Data Quality Assurance: Implement thorough checks to maintain data integrity and ensure geospatial accuracy.
- Data Pipeline Design & Development: Build and maintain automated data pipelines for geospatial data, ensuring seamless integration with xMap’s platform.
- Performance Optimization: Optimize queries, data structures, and pipelines for speed, scalability, and real-time geospatial applications.
- Automation & Process Improvement: Identify repetitive processes and implement automation to improve efficiency and reduce manual tasks.
- Collaboration & Communication: Collaborate with xMap’s engineering team, GIS experts, and project managers to deliver high-quality data solutions that meet project needs.
- Troubleshooting & Support: Diagnose and resolve issues in data pipelines, ensuring smooth operation and continuous data flow for geospatial applications.
Qualifications:
- Data Manipulation Languages: Proficiency in Python, SQL, or similar, with a focus on handling geospatial data.
- Web Scraping Tools: Experience with Selenium, BeautifulSoup, Scrapy, or custom-built scrapers to extract geographic data.
- Geospatial Data Expertise: Experience working with location-based data formats (GeoJSON, shapefiles, etc.).
- Data Preparation Tools: Proficiency with pandas, NumPy, and other tools for manipulating geospatial datasets.
- Data Quality Management: Skilled in validating and ensuring the accuracy of mapping and geospatial data.
- Pipeline Design: Experience with tools like Apache Airflow, Luigi, or custom pipelines, focusing on real-time or batch processing of geospatial data.
- Performance Tuning: Strong skills in optimizing queries and data workflows for xMap’s high-performance mapping platform.
- Automation Skills: Proficiency in scripting and automation tools to streamline data processes.
- Problem-Solving: Strong troubleshooting skills to resolve issues in geospatial data pipelines.
- Communication Skills: Ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate technical details to non-technical stakeholders.
