Description:
Karandaaz is seeking a Senior Analyst Private Equity in the Corporate Investment & Credit (CIC) team who will be primarily responsible for creating financial models, analyze financial statements, participate in commercial and financial due diligence, assessment of potential investment opportunities, and monitoring of portfolio companies.
Job Description
Deal Origination
- Identify and evaluate potential new private equity investments in a wide variety of sectors
- Track and manage pipeline of new potential private equity investments
Investment Evaluation & Execution
- Prepare detailed financial models and projections incorporating potential business cases and scenarios to enable and support investment decision making.
- Assist in performing legal, financial and tax due diligence for investment opportunities, including thorough review of industry and company details, and evaluating the overall merits and risks, valuation, and return profiles of companies across sectors.
- Communicate analysis of private equity investment opportunities, results, and recommendations via reports and presentations, including preparing qualitative and quantitative assessments, memoranda, and spreadsheets.
- Prepare high quality submissions for the Investment Committee including memoranda and financial models
- Review and participate in the negotiation and finalization of transaction documentation
- Assist in execution of transaction documentation and closing action items
Portfolio Monitoring
- Monitor the performance of portfolio companies including performance vis-a-vis business plan and KPIs
- Work alongside CIO and deal teams on strategic initiatives related to portfolio companies
- Collaborate with Finance and Monitoring & Evaluation to track, monitor and evaluate portfolio performance and generate impact assessment reports.
- Prepare documentation for Karandaaz’s internal processes including creating and maintaining annual work plans and support in internal and external audits
- Any other task necessary to ensure the optimum performance of the CIC department
Eligibility
A preferred candidate will need to have:
Education & Experience
- Minimum Bachelor’s or equivalent degree. Specialization in Finance/Economics/Business preferred including any professional qualification such as CFA, ACCA, CA.
- 3-5 years of experience at a brokerage firm, advisory firm, private equity fund, DFI, investment bank, or investment team of a company.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Understanding of a not-for-profit organization
- Interest in development issues and working in emerging markets
- Good knowledge of business finance and basics of financial analysis
- Excellent knowledge of IT tools used at work (MS Office, data base)
- Intermediate level skill in Google Suite
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
