Senior Accountant

Description:

It is a full-time role for a Senior Accountant at Websquare. We seek a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accountant to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing a wide range of accounting duties for our sister companies. This is a crucial role within our organization, requiring meticulous attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and expertise in financial management.

Responsibilities

• Perform all bookkeeping duties for our sister companies, ensuring accuracy and adherence to financial regulations.

• Handle quarterly bookkeeping for UK VAT returns, maintaining compliance with HMRC requirements.

• Reconcile accounting ledgers regularly to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data.

• Prepare monthly/quarterly management accounts with supporting schedules and reconciliations, providing insights into financial performance.

• Conduct self-assessments to ensure compliance with tax regulations and reporting requirements.

• Process and submit accurate and timely payroll to HMRC, including PAYE/NIC calculations and related filings.

• Demonstrate proficiency in Xero Accounting Software to manage financial transactions and reporting effectively.

• Post daily and month-end entries to the general ledger, including intercompany transactions, to ensure the accurate recording of financial activities.

• Track business revenue and expenditures, reconciling accounts to maintain accuracy and financial integrity.

Requirements

• Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, AAT) Finalist or Qualified.

• Proven experience as a Senior Accountant or in a similar role, with a minimum of [5] years in accounting or finance.

• In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and regulations.

• Proficiency in using accounting software, with a strong understanding of Xero Accounting Software.

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data.

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.

• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.

• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks within deadlines.

• Familiarity with UK tax laws and regulations, including VAT and payroll requirements.
