Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Researcher to join our team. The Researcher will be responsible for conducting field research, data analysis, and contributing to the preparation of reports and publications. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in research methodologies and a keen interest in socio-economic and urban issues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Data Collection: Conduct primary and secondary research, including field surveys, interviews, and data extraction from existing databases.
- Field Research: Engage directly with the stakeholders to gather qualitative and quantitative data.
- Data Analysis: Analyze collected data using appropriate statistical and qualitative methods, ensuring accuracy and reliability.
- Literature Review: Review existing literature and studies related to urban development, and socio-economic issues.
- Report Writing: Draft comprehensive research reports, policy briefs, and other written materials summarizing findings and providing recommendations.
- Data Management: Organize and maintain datasets, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the office staff to ensure cohesive and comprehensive research outputs.
- Presentation of Findings: Assist in preparing presentations and other materials to disseminate research findings to stakeholders and the public.
- Ethical Compliance: Ensure all research activities are conducted ethically and comply with relevant regulations and guidelines.
Qualifications
Education: Master/ M.Phil, Ph.D. degree in Social Sciences, Management Sciences, Economics, Public Policy, Urban Studies, or a related field.
Experience: Prior experience in research, data analysis, or fieldwork is highly desirable.
Skills:
- Strong research and analytical skills, with experience in both qualitative and quantitative methods.
- Proficiency in data analysis software (e.g., Excel, SPSS, STATA) and qualitative analysis tools.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational abilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Cultural awareness and sensitivity, especially in dealing with diverse communities.
