Raw Material Quality Inspection & Testing Lead

Description:

Haier is seeking a Raw Material Quality Inspection & Testing Lead to oversee the quality control of raw materials used in ACs, refrigerators, and washing machines. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in metallurgy or mechanical engineering with extensive experience in material testing, supplier quality management, and lab operations.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Raw Material Quality Inspection & Testing:

• Oversee the testing of raw materials such as metals, plastics, electronic components, and insulation.

• Conduct mechanical, chemical, thermal, and durability tests to ensure compliance with specifications.

• Maintain accuracy in test results and ensure proper lab equipment calibration.

• Identify defective materials and coordinate with procurement to reject or replace them.

2. Lab Operations & Compliance:

• Develop and implement quality control procedures for raw material testing.

• Ensure compliance with ISO, ASTM, IEC, and other industry standards.

• Maintain proper documentation of test reports, approvals, and rejections.

• Lead internal and external audits of the material quality lab.

3. Supplier Quality Management:

• Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to ensure adherence to Haier’s material quality standards.

• Conduct supplier assessments and monitor material consistency.

• Provide feedback to vendors for continuous improvement in material quality.

4. Team Leadership & Training:

• Manage and train lab technicians and quality inspectors.

• Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and training programs for lab personnel.

• Promote a culture of quality and continuous improvement within the lab.

5. Process Improvement & Problem-Solving:

• Analyze material defects and failures, proposing effective corrective actions.

• Implement new testing methodologies to improve material quality assessment.

• Collaborate with R&D, production, and procurement teams for better material selection and usage.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• BSc in Metallurgy or Mechanical Engineering.

• 7 to 10 years of relevant experience in quality control, material testing, and supplier management.
