Description:
We are looking for a meticulous Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer to join our team and ensure our WordPress plugins' seamless functionality, performance, and reliability. As a QA Engineer, you will play a critical role in the software development lifecycle, working closely with developers, designers, and project managers to identify issues and maintain our reputation for high-quality products.
Key Responsibilities
- Test Planning: Create, update, and maintain detailed test plans, test cases, and testing documentation for WordPress plugins.
- Manual and Automated Testing: Conduct thorough manual testing and utilize automated testing tools to identify bugs, compatibility issues, and performance bottlenecks.
- Debugging: Collaborate with the development team to reproduce, document, and resolve defects and inconsistencies.
- Cross-Browser & Device Testing: Ensure plugins are compatible across multiple browsers, devices, and WordPress versions.
- Performance Testing: Test plugins for performance under various conditions and recommend improvements.
- Feedback Loop: Provide timely feedback to developers and contribute to discussions on improvements to existing features and user experience.
- Compliance Testing: Verify adherence to WordPress coding standards and security best practices.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed testing reports and summaries for stakeholders and developers.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a QA Engineer or similar role, preferably in WordPress plugin development.
- Strong understanding of WordPress architecture, plugins, and themes.
- Proficiency in manual testing methods and familiarity with automated testing tools (e.g., Selenium, Cypress) are a plus.
- Experience testing cross-browser compatibility and responsive design.
- Basic knowledge of PHP, JavaScript, and HTML/CSS for debugging purposes.
- Familiarity with version control tools like Git.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
