We are seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team as Program Coordinator – Healthy Athletes. In this pivotal role you will play a transformative role in improving the health and well-being of individuals with intellectual disabilities (IDs). Through the Healthy Athletes program, we aim to provide vital health screenings, education, and resources to ensure every athlete can thrive both on and off the field.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify, nurture, and manage existing partnerships with diverse stakeholders, including NGOs, Health institutes, Hospitals, and private organizations. Collaborate to enhance the Healthy Athletes Program's impact and scope.
- Take the lead in promoting and expanding health and fitness-promoting activities, and structured programming opportunities among athletes and individuals with intellectual disabilities.
- Support promoting and expanding health and fitness activities at partner schools and clubs.
- Implement post-screening follow-up procedures for athletes referred for additional care by healthcare professionals during SO Pakistan Healthy Athletes screening events.
- Survey healthcare providers on their training in treating people with intellectual disabilities. Create a directory of qualified healthcare providers.
- Engage all partners, including athletes, in the planning and executing of health programs. Foster inclusion, delineate responsibilities, and ensure effective coordination.
- Organize and manage health screening events for athletes involved with Special Olympics Pakistan.
- Coordinate with Clinical Directors to ensure alignment with the program's plan and finalized activities. Identify new Clinical Directors who are willing to support the program.
- Contribute to the annual planning process, devising strategies and plans to achieve annual goals set by Special Olympics Pakistan.
- Lead efforts in implementing and reporting on the grant supporting the Healthy Athletes Program. Ensure compliance with donor requirements and timely submission of financial reports.
- Develop, monitor, and manage the project budget, ensuring expenses align with budgetary parameters. Coordinate financial reporting with the finance team to ensure fiscal responsibility.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in public health, health sciences, psychology, bio-sciences or a related field.
- At least 2 years of experience in health program planning and implementation, preferably with a focus on multi-year projects that involves collaboration with a diverse set of partners.
- Strong project management skills, including the ability to meet deadlines, manage multiple projects, and work independently.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills.
- Ability to build and maintain networks and effectively communicate sensitive issues to diverse stakeholders.
