Description:
Energy Futures Consulting is seeking a technically strong and motivated Power System Engineer to join our engineering team. This role involves power system design, simulation, analysis, and client engagement across utility-scale and industrial renewable energy projects, including solar, wind, battery storage, and microgrids. The ideal candidate will play a key role in designing and optimizing electrical networks to improve energy efficiency and reliability.
π§ System Design & Engineering
β
Design and develop electrical system layouts for grid-connected, hybrid, and off-grid systems.
β
Prepare Single Line Diagrams (SLDs), equipment sizing, interconnection drawings, and protective schemes.
β
Conduct power system studies using ETAP, including:
Load flow analysis
Short-circuit calculations
Protection coordination
Arc flash analysis
Harmonic distortion studies
Transient and dynamic stability studies
π¬οΈ Technology Coverage
β
Work across various renewable energy technologies, including:
Solar PV (rooftop, ground-mounted, utility-scale)
Wind energy systems
Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)
Hybrid and microgrid systems
Energy-efficient industrial networks
π Analysis & Optimization
β
Model and simulate electrical systems using ETAP as the primary platform.
β
Analyze power quality, grid compliance, reactive power compensation, and energy loss reduction.
β
Recommend system-level improvements for energy reliability and performance.
π Documentation & Deliverables
β
Prepare and review technical reports, BOQs, feasibility studies, design packages, and system studies.
β
Support in RFP responses and client presentations.
π€ Client Coordination & Project Support
β
Engage with clients (especially from the Commercial & Industrial (C&I) sector) to gather technical requirements and present findings.
β
Participate in stakeholder discussions, site meetings, and technical walkthroughs.
β
Assist in project management tasks such as timeline planning, team coordination, and deliverable tracking under the Head of Projects.
π Innovation & Learning
β
Stay updated on international standards (IEC, IEEE), utility interconnection codes, and emerging energy technologies.
β
Collaborate internally to enhance workflows and digital tools for system modeling and analysis.
π Education:
β Bachelorβs degree in Electrical or Power Engineering (Masterβs preferred in Power Systems or Clean Energy).
π Certifications (Preferred):
β ETAP Certified User (Highly Preferred).
β Certifications in renewable energy (solar/wind), BESS, or grid interconnection are a plus.

Experience:
β 3β6 years of experience in power system design and studies.
β Hands-on experience with ETAP for system modeling, analysis, and reporting.
β Experience with solar, wind, and storage projects in utility or industrial environments.
π» Technical Skills:
β Strong understanding of:
Power system protection and design
Harmonics and transient stability
Grid interconnection and compliance
Power quality and reactive power compensation
β Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
β Familiarity with HOMER, AutoCAD, or other energy tools is a plus.
