The Manager will work on establishing new partnerships to co-develop offshore wind projects in APAC and on executing M&A transactions to optimize BlueFloat Energy’s portfolio and grow its economic value in the region. The key markets in APAC for BlueFloat Energy are Australia, Taiwan, New Zealand and Philippines. The role requires close cooperation with local teams and corporate functions as well as direct engagement with potential partners/investors and advisers.

MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Co-lead the origination of floating offshore wind opportunities in APAC through Joint Ventures, M&A & Tenders/Auctions.
- In the case of partnerships, plan together with the Head of Partnerships/M&A and subsequently lead the negotiations of partnership documents at various development stages (e.g. joint bidding agreement, shareholders agreement, development services agreement) working alongside internal colleagues (CEO, Chief Commercial Officer, Country Manager, internal Legal Counsel) and external lawyers.
- In the case of M&A initiatives, plan together with the Head of Partnerships/M&A and subsequently lead the evaluation of opportunities and structuring of transactions, drive and manage the transaction process, source and manage external advisers, coordinate the due diligence workstreams across multiple subject matter experts, prepare M&A-related materials and lead the negotiation of transaction documents.
- In the case of tenders, contribute to define a partnership strategy depending on tender criteria.
- Coordinate with local teams and colleagues in the Commercial, Finance and Legal functions on all opportunities, ensure internal preparation to execute and follow-up until completion.
- Liaise with colleagues in the Investments team on developing business case and auction cash flow models.
- Prepare decision support materials for BlueFloat Energy’s management and shareholders (547 Energy).
- Gather and share intelligence on the offshore wind sector, competitors, and M&A market in APAC by building and maintaining a network of strategic players, financial investors, banks, law firms and market consultants.
REQUIRED PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
- 7-10+ years of experience in offshore wind and/or other renewable energy business development roles as part of an investment fund, advisory firm, or renewable energy IPP or Utility.
- Demonstrated experience in origination, evaluation and execution of Joint Ventures and/or Acquisitions/Divestments transactions, ideally in energy and/or infrastructure markets.
- Experience with financial modeling or other quantitative analysis.
- Experience with negotiation of partnership documents or other commercial/legal agreements.
