Role Overview:
Indus Sugar Mills is hiring a Manager Technical - Mechanical, based in Lahore District. This position is a full-time, on-site role, responsible for overseeing mechanical operations and maintenance activities across the manufacturing plant. The selected candidate will be entrusted with ensuring all mechanical systems and machinery operate efficiently, while managing a team of skilled technicians and implementing robust preventive maintenance programs.

This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and a collaborative mindset to work seamlessly with cross-functional teams. The Manager Technical - Mechanical will play a key role in troubleshooting equipment issues, optimizing mechanical processes, and ensuring compliance with safety standards — all contributing directly to enhanced production efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

🔧 Oversee the daily mechanical operations of the manufacturing facility, ensuring all machinery and mechanical systems are fully operational.

🔧 Lead, supervise, and mentor a team of mechanical technicians, fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork, and technical excellence.

🔧 Implement and manage preventive and predictive maintenance programs to reduce downtime and extend the lifespan of equipment.

🔧 Identify and troubleshoot mechanical faults, swiftly diagnosing root causes and applying appropriate corrective actions.

🔧 Continuously optimize mechanical processes, introducing innovations and best practices to improve overall plant efficiency and productivity.

🔧 Ensure strict adherence to safety standards, operational procedures, and regulatory compliance across all mechanical functions.

🔧 Collaborate closely with production, quality assurance, and procurement teams to align mechanical operations with broader production goals.

🔧 Maintain comprehensive maintenance records, equipment logs, and performance reports for management review.

🔧 Stay updated with industry advancements, recommending new technologies and methods to enhance mechanical performance.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

✅ Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related field).
✅ Proven technical expertise in mechanical engineering, troubleshooting, and maintenance processes.
✅ Minimum of 5+ years’ experience managing mechanical operations, preferably in the sugar manufacturing industry (experience in related manufacturing/industrial sectors will also be considered).
✅ Strong experience in managing technical teams, overseeing complex mechanical projects, and handling industrial machinery.
✅ In-depth knowledge of safety standards, regulatory requirements, and environmental compliance related to mechanical operations.
✅ Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical-thinking abilities.
✅ Strong communication and leadership skills, capable of leading teams while maintaining positive interdepartmental collaboration.
✅ Ability to work effectively under pressure, managing multiple priorities within strict timelines.
✅ Willingness to be on-site full-time at the Lahore facility.

Preferred Qualifications:

➕ Prior experience in the sugar manufacturing industry is highly desirable.
➕ Knowledge of modern machinery technologies and automation systems is a plus.
➕ Understanding of lean manufacturing techniques related to mechanical processes.
