Description:
Karandaaz is seeking an experienced and strategic Manager of Procurement for sourcing, negotiation, and acquisition of goods and services. This role is crucial in ensuring the efficient and cost-effective procurement of resources needed to support our operations and projects. The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal skills, a deep understanding of procurement processes, and a proven track record in managing complex procurement activities.
Job Responsibilities
- Strategic Procurement Planning: Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with the goals and objectives of KRN. Ensure that procurement activities are cost-effective and support the organization's operational and strategic needs.
- Team coordination: Communicate and support the procurement team in managing of performance objectives, training, and conducting evaluation for performance targets
- Supplier Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors. Negotiate contracts and terms to secure the best possible outcomes for Karandaaz. Monitor supplier performance and resolve any issues that arise.
- Contract Negotiation: Oversee the drafting, negotiation, and management of contracts and agreements. Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and address any discrepancies or disputes.
- Market Analysis: Conduct market research to stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and new suppliers. Use this information to make informed procurement decisions and recommendations.
- Budget Management: Develop and manage procurement budgets, ensuring cost control and adherence to financial constraints. Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities.
- Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure procurement practices comply with legal regulations, organizational policies, and ethical standards. Assess and manage risks associated with procurement activities.
- Reporting and Documentation: Prepare and present procurement reports, including performance metrics and analysis, to senior management. Maintain accurate and organized procurement records and documentation.
- Any other task necessary to ensure the optimum performance of the Procurement department
Eligibility Criteria
Education & Experience
- Master’s degree (Supply Chain Management, Finance, or a related field) from a reputable institution.
- Relevant professional certifications (e.g., CIPS, CSCP) will be given preference
- 8-10 years of work experience in procurement or supply chain management. Demonstrated experience with IT and technical procurements in the telecom and banking industry will be an added advantage.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Understanding of a not-for-profit organization
- Basic knowledge of the digital financial services industry (mobile money, branchless banking, payment services etc.) and an appetite to learn more
- Proficient knowledge of Procurement software and Oracle EBS ERP
- Expert level skill in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Intermediate level skill in Google Suite
