Description:
As a Linux System Engineer you will be designing Telecom scale VAS Systems (containing SIP/SMPP/Sigtran etc) and managing Operations mainly in Linux/Unix and VOIP and leading the team of DevOps engineers. You will be focused on R&D of Video Telephone, Sip Telephony, 4G IMS and relevant telecom technologies.
Responsibilities:
- Deployment and Maintenance of VOIP(Voice/Video) Services and operations
- R&D of Linux based Open-source SIP Telephony solution and Telecom 4G IMS technologies
- Managing operations of various Telecom Solutions, Sigtran, VOIP, SMPP, SIP, CAP, MAP etc
- Troubleshooting problems in various components in timely fashion
- Automate various entities of Services and reporting.
- Work with Clients normally Worldwide Telecom Operators
- Ownership of Service Level operations and its improvements
- Managing L2-L3 Operations of various cloud components
- Deploying and managing various DBs and responsible for their uptimes
- Deploying and Managing Hypervisor, VMs, Containers and their operations in depth
- Testing of various In-House and Open-source Software scalability.
Skills And Qualifications
- 2-5 years of experience
- Expert Level knowledge of Linux/Unix Structure and Management
- Good knowledge of Hypervisor, VMs, Containers and their operations in depth
- VOIP Experience of SIP/SDP/RTP and Asterisk, Free Switch etc.
- Expert Level knowledge of Linux/Unix Structure and Management
- Expert Level knowledge of Databases, MySQL, PostgreSQL and Cassandra
- Expert Level knowledge of DB routing mechanisms and query routing
- Expert in various Load Balancers Hardware and Software i.e F5, HaProxy,
- Expert in Apache and Ngnix Webservers, their modules and their deployment structure
- Expert in DNS, mainly BIND and good knowledge of working of ROOT, Cache only servers.
- Good knowledge of scripting mainly in Bash, Perl, Python
- CI/ CD pipelines (Jenkins / AWS code pipeline or any other tool)
- Cloud Computing experience (AWS, Google, Digital Ocean)
- Container systems (Docker, Docker-Compose)
- Container orchestration (Kubernetes, Swarm or any other)
- Monitoring and logging (Prometheus, ELK, Grafana or any other)
- Infrastructure as code (Ansible, Terraform, or any other).
- Understanding of any SCM like Git
- University degree in BS Computer science, Software engineering or another relevant field.
- Have good presentation and communication skills with ability to influence colleagues and decision makers.
