Responsibilities:
- Handle clerical tasks and administrative duties related to City Court procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of court documents, daily diary, case files, and legal correspondence.
- Assist in the preparation and filing of legal documents in accordance with court protocols.
- Conduct in-depth legal research to support ongoing cases and legal projects.
- Provide legal support under the supervision of senior legal professionals.
- Assist in case analysis, legal strategy development, and preparation of arguments.
- Coordinate with the legal team to ensure smooth case management and court proceedings.
- Engage with clients to gather relevant case information and provide updates on legal proceedings.
- Address client queries in a professional and courteous manner, especially on emails
- Candidate must have a basic understanding of how cases are run in City Courts.
- Should be aware of the process of cross-examination and courtroom procedures.
- Be able to assist with or observe cross-examinations during trials, under the supervision of senior legal professionals.
- Work on all cases assigned, including individual cases of senior lawyers.
- Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability to manage various cases as needed.
- These timings must be strictly followed to ensure smooth operations.
- Assist students involved in the clinic, providing guidance and helping them learn practical aspects of law and court procedures.
- Help students during court visits by collecting amounts from them, maintaining an Excel sheet to track student payments, marking attendance, and ensuring they receive full attention and support.
- Be prepared to travel to different cities and countries for educational and professional visits with students.
- Assist in organizing and accompanying students on such trips, ensuring their safety and providing necessary support during the visits
Qualifications & Requirements:
- LLM or LLB degree.
- At least 1 year of relevant experience.
- Must arrive at the City Court by 8:00 AM and remain there until 1:00-2:00 PM.
- A break will be provided after the court session, followed by office/chamber work from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
