Lead Linux Engineer

Description:

IT22 is looking for a proactive and dynamic Linux engineer (Lead) to join our diverse team of engineers. In this role, you’ll be responsible for leading your team and collaborating with software developers, system operators, and other engineering team members to fulfill their platform’s operational needs and the organization’s 24/7 online services.

Your Responsibilities:

– Managing and administering Linux-based systems (Red Hat, CentOS, or Ubuntu).

– Troubleshooting system issues, performance tuning, and optimizing system configurations.

– Designing, deploying, and managing Kubernetes clusters in production environments.

– Using Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or Ansible to automate deployment, scaling, and management of infrastructure.

– Working with container technologies, including Docker, and designing containerized applications for scalability and resilience.

– Implementing security best practices for Linux systems and Kubernetes clusters.

– Implementing and maintaining security measures such as RBAC, network policies, and SSL/TLS.

– Setting up monitoring and logging solutions for Linux and Kubernetes environments (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack).

– Designing and implementing high-availability architectures and disaster recovery plans for critical applications.

– Scripting (Bash, Python, or similar) for automation of routine tasks and system maintenance.

– Effectively communicate and collaborate with cross-functional teams, articulate technical concepts, and provide mentorship to junior team members.

– Implementing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines for deploying and managing applications on Linux and Kubernetes will be an added advantage.

– Comprehensive documentation for system configurations, processes, and troubleshooting guides.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 8-10 years of hands-on experience in Linux system administration and Kubernetes.
• Relevant certifications such as Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) or Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) are a plus.
