Executive Recruitment Asia is seeking an experienced and proactive Head of Legal for a dynamic and diverse group of companies. Our client operates with a fully remote working model, with a strong presence in the APAC region, and is involved in various industries, including gaming, trading, blockchain, and tokenization. This role offers a unique opportunity for a legal professional who thrives in a hands-on environment with the autonomy to lead legal strategies and compliance initiatives across multiple brands. The successful candidate will report directly to three UBOs (Ultimate Beneficial Owners) and play a critical role in ensuring the legal health of the organisation.
Responsibilities
- Provide expert legal advice and support across a range of corporate, commercial, and regulatory matters.
- Develop and manage legal strategies, ensuring compliance with local and international laws and regulations.
- Advise senior management and the UBOs on legal risks, mitigations, and opportunities for the business.
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts and agreements, ensuring the organisation’s interests are protected.
- Manage relationships with external legal advisors and regulators, ensuring efficient and cost-effective service.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with industry-specific laws, including gaming, trading, and blockchain regulations.
- Lead and manage any legal disputes, investigations, or litigation matters.
- Maintain and update company policies to reflect the latest legal requirements.
- Stay updated on legal trends and developments, ensuring the company remains ahead of potential risks.
Requirements
- Qualified lawyer with with exposure to corporate, commercial, and regulatory law within iGaming, FX or related Fintech or Blockchain businesses.
- Experience within industries such as gaming, Fintech, blockchain, or trading is highly desirable.
- Based in the APAC region, with the ability to work remotely and manage multiple jurisdictions.
- Proven track record in providing legal advice in fast-paced and innovative environments.
- Strong understanding of international regulations and compliance, particularly in relation to gaming and Ffintech.
- A proactive and hands-on approach to legal management, capable of working independently.
- Ability to report to multiple stakeholders and manage competing priorities.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally within the organisation.
- Willingness to step into a more senior role with broader responsibility, or a desire to transition into a smaller, more agile organisation.
