Description:
Head of Product Design delivers compelling creative experiences that strike a balance between consumer goals and business needs; plays a strategic role in aligning the product roadmap with the needs of consumers/markets, thereby creating balanced and refined product solutions within the constraints of the technical framework of the product.
Priorities and Deliverables:
- Own the product design. Lead brainstorming and ideation sessions on UX. Own end-to-end
- design (interaction, visual, etc.) across multiple features and projects.
- Lead and grow a high-performing design team to tackle cross-product challenges.
- Partner with Product and Engineering leads to align on strategy, improve processes, and ensure successful execution.
- Enhance design practices within the team through processes like critiques and design sprints, fostering a culture of excellence.
- Design, conduct and analyze results from a variety of research studies including usability lab studies, remote research, field studies, and survey design.
- Leverage data, user feedback, and analytics to validate designs and inform decisions.
- Advocate for the user and serve as the voice of the user, championing user needs throughout the design and development process.
- Scope design initiatives against high-level product roadmaps, allocate resources and prioritize work across multiple domains.
Qualifications:
- 7+ years of overall product design experience both as an IC Product designer and a leader of design teams.
- Preference will be given to candidates who have experience designing enterprise applications at scale.
- Experience leading design efforts for a suite of products or working on features that span multiple product lines.
- Mastery of design tools like Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD and proficiency in creating interactive prototypes
- Strong understanding of interaction design, visual design, and UX principles
- Proven experience in user research, usability testing, and translating insights into actionable design improvements.
- Excellent communication skills to present and justify design decisions clearly
- A solid grasp of user-centered design (UCD), planning and conducting user research, user testing, A/B testing, rapid prototyping, heuristic analysis, usability, and accessibility concerns.
- Ability to work effectively in a diverse team setting, including synthesizing abstract ideas into concrete design implications.
