Footwear Designer

Description:

The Production Manager will oversee the entire production process, from new collection design and daily order fulfillment to material sourcing and vendor management. We need someone with expertise in the footwear industry who understands both handmade and machine-made production methods, quality control, and the latest innovations in fabrics and techniques.

Key Responsibilities

• Production Planning

Manage the production calendar to ensure timely execution of new collections and daily orders.

• Vendor Management

Build and maintain vendor relationships; coordinate with vendors to secure timely, cost-effective supply of materials and finished goods.

• Fabric Sourcing

Source new materials and suppliers, as well as innovative production techniques to keep the brand’s offerings fresh and relevant.

• Quality Control

Implement quality checks across all production phases to maintain product excellence.

• Inventory Management

Monitor and manage inventory in-house and across online marketplaces.

• Production Process Improvement

Introduce new techniques, machinery, and innovations to enhance efficiency and quality.

• Collaboration

Work closely with design and sales teams to align production with market demand and business objectives.

• Meetings & Coordination

Attend vendor meetings, and when necessary, visit vendor locations to inspect production and address any issues.

Requirements

• 3-5 years of proven experience in production management within the footwear industry.

• Strong understanding of footwear production processes, including handmade and machine-made techniques.

• Familiarity with fabric sourcing, quality control, and vendor management specific to footwear.

• Knowledge of current trends in materials and production technologies.

• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

• Excellent organizational and communication skills.

• Proven leadership skills and ability to collaborate across departments.

• A hands-on approach with attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
