Description:
Jhpiego, a global leader in improving health care for women and families, seeks a Finance Officer, based in Islamabad. The Finance officer will be responsible for implementing and maintaining an on-site financial and bookkeeping system required assuring the integrity and effective performance of the financial operations.
Responsibilities
- Received vendors invoices against Purchase orders, Review & Posting of the bank and cash payment vouchers in QBE in a timely manner and making sure that all the required supporting documents are duly attached and are in compliance with the JHPEIGO and applicable donors requirement
- Support in development of monthly financial reporting (closing) including but not limited to bank reconciliations and ensure its timely submission to Jhpiego head office in Baltimore
- Implement and maintain detailed financial reporting and reimbursement process in accordance within Jhpiego’s established financial system
- Ensure that all payment vouchers are regularly stamped with "Paid & Posted" and properly filed in their respective Files.
- Support in developing budget vs Actual reports and prevent over-expenditure of budgets; and ensure compliance with established donor and Jhpiego financial and accounting procedures
- Review, reconcile and monitor all accounts, advances given to project staff,, and petty cash operations involving cash advances
- Closely monitors all financial activities, and keep the Finance Manager informed of all situations which have the potential for a negative impact on internal controls or financial performance;
- Timely preparation and review of monthly bank account and cash reconciliations
- Ensure accurate cash forecasts for meeting future spending and insure petty cash fund is replenished in time and is under proper safety controls
- Support Finance Manager/Officer during audits and tax compliances.
- Travelling to field offices for supervision, monitoring and ensuring compliance as appropriate.
- Liaison with banks and Tax authorities for timely submission of Information to FBR in respect of various on-going tax matters in coordination with Sr. Finance officer.
- Assist procurement team to open bids, make evaluations, cost analysis as and when required.
- Facilitate in Physical Inventory check of all offices after every six months or at least annually, reconcile it with record and follow up with the inventory custodian to indentify missing, lost or damaged items.
- Perform or assume other duties as assigned by the supervisor
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting or Part Qualified ACCA, or equivalent.
- Atleast 3-5 years of relevant working experience in accounting/financial management, preferably in the non-profit and/or development sector
- Mandatory Knowledge and experience of QBE is essential.
- Proficiency in software applications, databases, spreadsheets including Microsoft Word, Excel.
- Proven ability to work individually and in a team
- Able to prioritize multiple competing tasks; Perform tasks correctly, quickly, and efficiently according to their relative urgency and importance.
- Ability to ensure adherence to applicable laws and regulations
- Demonstrated ability to exercise confidentiality and professionalism
- Willing to travel upto 25% to provincial and field offices
