Description:
The Employee Relations Specialist plays a crucial role in maintaining positive relationships between employees and the organization. They are responsible for handling employee relations matters, resolving conflicts, and ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for employee relations issues, including but not limited to grievances, disputes, and disciplinary actions.
- Conduct investigations into employee complaints, allegations, or conflicts, ensuring impartiality, confidentiality, and thoroughness throughout the process.
- Provide guidance and support to managers and employees on employee relations matters, including interpretation of policies, procedures, and employment laws.
- Develop and implement employee relations strategies, initiatives, and programs to promote a positive work environment and enhance employee engagement.
- Collaborate with HR Business Partners and other stakeholders to address systemic issues and develop proactive solutions to mitigate risks.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records of employee relations cases, investigations, and outcomes.
- Analyze trends and metrics related to employee relations to identify areas for improvement and recommend appropriate interventions.
- Stay abreast of relevant employment laws, regulations, and best practices to ensure compliance and mitigate legal risks.
- Conduct training sessions or workshops for managers and employees on topics related to conflict resolution, communication skills, and employee relations.
- Assist with other HR projects and initiatives as needed.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- 5 years of experience in employee relations, HR, or related field.
- Strong knowledge of employment laws, regulations, and best practices.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to gather and analyze data to inform decision-making.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS software.
- HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) preferred.
