LUMS Energy Institute is seeking a highly skilled and innovative Electronics Engineer specializing in circuit design and EV charger systems. This onsite position, based in Lahore, offers a compelling opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge projects in EV infrastructure and IoT-based energy systems. The selected candidate will play a key role in designing, prototyping, and optimizing electronic circuits for a variety of critical applications including battery management systems, charging technologies, and sensor integrations.

This role demands strong technical expertise in circuit design, system prototyping, safety compliance, and an aptitude for cross-functional collaboration. The engineer will contribute directly to the development of advanced hardware solutions for battery swap stations, EV chargers, IoT energy/gas monitors, and power management systems. The position also involves refining and troubleshooting existing systems to ensure optimal functionality and compliance with global safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, prototype, and optimize circuits for BMS, EV chargers, IoT sensors, and swap station components

  • Implement protection mechanisms for battery and power distribution systems (thermal, overvoltage, surge)

  • Collaborate with firmware teams and prototyping engineers for seamless integration and layout refinement

  • Enhance existing hardware designs for performance, cost-efficiency, and scalability

  • Ensure all designs meet global compliance and safety standards (e.g., IEC, UL)

  • Conduct troubleshooting and validation of EV and IoT circuitry

  • Stay informed on trends in power electronics and smart energy systems

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics Engineering or related field

  • 1–2 years of practical experience in circuit design within EV, power electronics, or IoT domains

  • Proficiency in PCB design tools (Altium, KiCad, Eagle) and simulation tools (LTspice, MATLAB/Simulink)

  • In-depth understanding of power electronics, microcontroller systems, and communication protocols (CAN, SPI, I2C)

  • Experience with lithium-ion battery systems and EV charger topologies (CCS, CHAdeMO, ISO 15118)

  • Familiarity with IoT sensor networks (LoRa, BLE, Wi-Fi)

  • Exposure to EMI/EMC testing and regulatory certification processes

  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and team collaboration skills
