Description:
The Deputy Manager Powerhouse (Coal Fired) will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of the coal-fired power plant, including CFBC boilers, steam turbines, water treatment plant, coal conveying, coal yard handling, ash handling, and other auxiliary equipment. The role demands a focus on compliance, cost-saving initiatives, inventory management, and staff training, ensuring efficient and safe plant operations while meeting environmental and regulatory standards.
Core Responsibilities:
- Cogen Plant Operation: Ensure smooth operation of CFB boilers, steam turbines, and balance of plant equipment. Perform preventive and corrective maintenance to ensure reliable power and steam supply.
- Compliance and Regulatory Requirements: Ensure the health, safety, and environmental standards for employees and contractors. Operate the plant within specified emissions limits and adhere to ISO standards (45001/9001/14001).
- Innovation/Cost Saving: Implement cost-saving initiatives and optimize power and steam generation with a focus on >90% condensate recovery.
- Inventory Management: Maintain coal inventory as per site guidelines and manage monthly reconciliation.
- Agility and Innovation: Oversee plant engineers and staff to minimize coal consumption per ton of steam and ensure optimal plant efficiency.
- Training: Train staff and contractors on the latest technologies and ensure compliance with SOPs.
- Contract Management and Reporting: Manage external contractors and ensure timely corrective and preventive actions.
- Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with quality personnel and plant management to ensure smooth plant operation and safety excellence.
Mandatory Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering from a PEC/HEC recognized university.
- Experience: 7-10 years of practical experience in coal-fired power plant operations.
- Language Skills: Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
Desirable Requirements:
- Experience: Operation of utilities, coal powerhouse, Cogen turbine, or gas turbine.
- Skills: Proficiency in SAP, office management, and Lean Six Sigma.
