Coal Analyst

Description:

Ingredion, a global leader in ingredient solutions, is hiring a Coal Analyst for their Rafhan Maize plant. This role involves performing laboratory tests to ensure coal supplies meet established standards and maintaining laboratory equipment safely and effectively. The Coal Technologist will be responsible for testing, documentation, data analysis, compliance activities, and providing technical assistance to operations. This position plays a key role in achieving departmental KPIs such as TRI/LTIR, COPQ, FPC, Complaint Index, and Cost Smart.

Key Responsibilities:

Laboratory Testing and Calibration Activities:

✔ Test incoming raw materials (coal, chemicals) and inform the Plant Quality Assurance Manager of any abnormal results.
✔ Maintain accurate records of raw materials and chemical testing results.
✔ Ensure all necessary solutions/chemicals are available and maintain safe laboratory practices.
✔ Report non-functional instruments to the Plant Quality Assurance Manager immediately.
✔ Prioritize testing based on process needs and ensure timely in-process analysis.
✔ Standardize chemical reagents and acquire training on GMP’s, GLP’s, ISO, IMS, and standard test methods.

Documentation, Data Analysis, and Record Activities:

✔ Maintain accurate records of laboratory testing and calibration for compliance with retention and regulatory procedures.
✔ Provide assistance in audits to ensure compliance with quality and IMS systems.
✔ Work with operations to resolve process discrepancies.
✔ Utilize SAP as an expert user, maintain and improve current systems, and provide training to other users.

IMS and Compliance Activities:

✔ Perform special test analysis to support optimization of in-process parameters.
✔ Review out-of-specification results with the Quality Manager and implement corrective actions.

Training and Development Activities:

✔ Participate in performance management and site development efforts to enhance the team's capabilities.
✔ Evaluate new analytical equipment and methodology.
✔ Continuously acquire training on GMP’s, GLP’s, ISO, IMS, and standard test methods.

Qualifications:

Mandatory Requirements:

✔ Education: B. Sc (Hons)/M. Sc in Chemistry or Coal Technology.
✔ Languages: Proficiency in both English and Urdu.
✔ Experience: 1-3 years in a QA/QC Laboratory (Food, Pharma, Chemical, or Quality Control/Quality Assurance).

Desirable Requirements:

✔ Strong mathematical skills and familiarity with quantitative analysis.
✔ Proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Office.
✔ A strong interest in learning new analytical technologies.
