Coal Analyst

 

Description:

The Coal Technologist is responsible to perform laboratory tests in respective shift or day duty to ensure Coals supplies according to established standards and guidelines. He would be handling the laboratory equipment and supplies safely and effectively and document laboratory activities for reference purposes. He will also play his role in achieving departmental KPIs;TRI/LTIR, COPQ, FPC, Complaint Index, Cost Smart.

Core Responsibilities

Laboratory Testing and Calibration Activities
 

  • To test incoming raw, chemical and other raw materials.
  • To inform Plant Quality Assurance Manager immediately in case of any abnormal results through Write-It/telephone.
  • To maintain analytical results, record book/log sheet of raw and chemical materials.
  • Repeating of analysis in case any variation is observed.
  • Ensuring availability of all the required solutions/chemicals.
  • Immediate reporting of non-functional instrument to Plant Quality Assurance Manager.
  • Ensure a safe laboratory environment.
  • Prioritize testing based on process needs.
  • Prepare and standardize chemical reagents when necessary.
  • Work with production to ensure timely in-process analysis.
  • To acquire training on current GMP’s, GLP’s, ISO, IMS and standard test methods and procedures. Maintain training records.
  • Participate in brain storming sessions to identify, investigate and resolve process discrepancies.
     

Documentation, Data Analysis and Record Activities
 

  • Maintain accurate laboratory records for compliance with retention and data recording procedures in accordance with IMS and regulations.
  • Maintain calibration records
  • Provide assistance to audits for compliance to quality, IMS systems as per customer, quality, and regulatory systems.
  • Work with operations providing technical assistance to identify, investigate and resolve process discrepancies.
  • SAP – Serve as an expert SAP user. Foundational skills to maintain and improve current system provide training to users, create master plans, etc.
     

IMS and Compliance Activities
 

  • Maintains records.
  • Ensure special test analysis needed to support optimization of in process parameters is performed in an appropriate and timely manner.
  • Review Out-of-Specification results with Quality Manager and implement required corrective action.
     

Training and Development Activities
 

  • Supports performance management activities and site development efforts to enhance the talent capability and provide ongoing personal development of staff.
  • Evaluate new analytical equipment and instrumentation methodology.
  • Evaluate test results to improve technicians and instrument performance.
  • To acquire training on current GMP’s, GLP’s, ISO, IMS and standard test methods and procedures. Maintain training records.
     

Qualified Candidates Will Have

Mandatory Requirements

Education
 

  • B. Sc (Hons)/M. Sc Chemistry, Coal Technology
  • Languages and level (English/Urdu is a must for Manager level and above)
     

Experience
 

  • 1-3 Years, QA/QC Laboratory
  • Food, Pharma, Chemical, Quality Control/Quality Assurance
