Description:

Social Investment Managers and Advisors LLC (SIMA), a leading impact investment manager handling over $400 million in 5 investment funds, is seeking an experienced and entrepreneurial Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead its finance team and support the firm's expansion. SIMA operates in 28 countries with 130 portfolio companies, focusing on investment funds, operating companies, advisory services, and charitable foundations.

This role is based in Pakistan and requires financial management across multiple entities, including SIMA’s US-based LLC, European investment funds, operating companies in Pakistan and the US, and a growing fractional CFO business. The CFO will also provide fractional CFO services and internal/external financial training and development.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Controls & Management Reporting:

✅ Lead finance, accounting, treasury, and financial reporting for SIMA, investment funds, and operating companies (Asaan Ghar in Pakistan, Sow Good Investments in the US).
✅ Supervise finance teams (7 staff members) at SIMA and operating companies.
✅ Participate in strategic planning and decision-making as an executive team member.
✅ Present financial data for fundraising, equity raising, and investor relations.
✅ Collaborate with institutional investors, auditors, banks, fund administrators, and regulatory bodies.
✅ Monitor revenues, expenses, cost-saving opportunities, and vendor relations.
✅ Ensure timely reporting to investors, regulators, and grant providers.

Audit & Tax Compliance:

✅ Manage audits for SIMA, investment funds, and operating companies.
✅ Ensure tax compliance, liaising with tax advisors and regulatory authorities.

Budgeting & Financial Planning:

✅ Analyze financial data to identify trends, improvements, and projections.
✅ Develop comprehensive budgets and financial forecasts for senior management approval.
✅ Support advisory functions with strategic financial insights.

Accounts Management & Payroll:

✅ Oversee invoicing, accounts receivable, and timely payments.
✅ Manage payroll processes for SIMA and its subsidiaries.

IT Project Management & Automation:

✅ Lead finance-related IT initiatives and automation projects with developers.
✅ Work closely with the IT team to optimize financial systems.

New Business Development & Fractional CFO Services:

✅ Develop and expand SIMA’s fractional CFO business.
✅ Hire and train junior accountants as needed.
✅ Ensure compliance with IFRS, US-GAAP, and SEC regulations.

Policy & Internal Controls:

✅ Regularly update financial and HR-related policies to meet regulatory requirements.
✅ Strengthen internal controls to ensure financial transparency.

Qualifications & Skills:

ACCA or CPA qualification with at least 8 years of finance experience.
✔ Expertise in financial control, accounting, reporting, and budgeting.
✔ Strong background in financial services, banking, or impact investing.
✔ Experience with ERP and technology implementation preferred.
✔ Ability to manage diverse financial operations and meet tight deadlines.
✔ Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
✔ Entrepreneurial mindset, adaptable to fast-paced environments.
