Description:
Position Overview: The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will be a key member of the executive leadership team, reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO). The CFO will be responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of the company and ensuring its financial health and stability. This role requires strategic thinking, strong leadership, exceptional financial acumen, and requisite knowledge to ensure compliance and adherence to international finance and accounting standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Strategy and Planning:
- Develop and implement financial strategies, plans, and policies that align with the company's goals and objectives.
- Provide strategic financial guidance to the CEO and board of directors.
- Lead financial forecasting, budgeting, and planning processes.
- Financial Reporting and Analysis:
- Oversee the preparation and presentation of accurate and timely financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, and financial forecasts.
- Conduct thorough financial analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Present financial data and analysis to the executive team and board of directors.
- Risk Management and Compliance:
- Establish and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Stay abreast of changes in accounting standards, tax laws, and regulations, and ensure compliance with all applicable International and National laws and regulations.
- Manage the company's capital structure, including debt financing.
- Monitor and manage cash flow to ensure adequate liquidity for operational needs and strategic initiatives.
- Oversee day-to-day financial operations, including accounting, billing, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
- Streamline processes and procedures to improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and excellence within the finance function.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or related field; CA or CMA preferred.
- 8 to 10 years of experience in the retail sector, with a focus on senior financial leadership positions, ideally as a CFO or Finance Director.
- Strong financial acumen and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and make strategic recommendations.
- Demonstrated expertise in financial planning and analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
- In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, tax laws, and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Proven track record of driving financial performance and operational excellence.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage competing priorities effectively.
