This position requires a seasoned professional with a deep understanding of the IT services landscape, a strategic mindset, and a proven track record in business development. The ideal candidate will be adept at identifying new business opportunities, building and maintaining strong client relationships, and delivering results in a fast-paced, competitive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Planning and Execution:
- Develop and implement comprehensive business development strategies to achieve company growth objectives.
- Identify and evaluate new market opportunities, including emerging trends and competitive landscape.
- Collaborate with the executive team to align business development goals with overall company strategy.
2. Market Research and Analysis:
- Conduct thorough market research to identify potential clients and sectors for business expansion.
- Analyze market data to inform strategic decisions and identify growth opportunities.
3. Client Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, understanding their needs and providing tailored IT solutions.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for major clients, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and retention.
- Negotiate and close high-value contracts with clients, ensuring terms are favourable for both parties.
4. Set goals & Monitor Progress:
· Set goals and objectives to measure the success of business development strategy. These goals may include sales targets, market share acquisition and other key performance indicators.
· Monitor progress against goals and objectives. Analyse sales data, conduct further customer research and watch competitor activity to adjust the strategy and ensure it remains effective long term.
5. Business Growth:
- Drive the business growth process from lead generation, achieve and exceed revenue targets by identifying and securing new business opportunities.
- Develop and present compelling proposals and presentations to prospective clients.
6. Cross-functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with the marketing team to develop effective marketing strategies and campaigns.
- Collaborate with the product development and technical teams to ensure client needs are met with innovative IT solutions.
- Provide feedback to internal teams to improve service offerings and client satisfaction.
7. Leadership and Mentoring:
- Mentor and guide junior business development staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.
- Lead by example, demonstrating best practices in business development and client management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Marketing, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in business development within the IT services sector.
- Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving revenue growth.
- Strong understanding of IT services, including cloud computing, cybersecurity, software development, staff augmentation and managed services.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Proficient in CRM software and other business development tools.
