Description:
The Business Development Executive will play a key role in expanding the firm’s network of accredited investors by actively engaging in outreach, qualifying leads, and managing the investor pipeline. This role will be responsible for identifying and targeting potential investors, primarily through LinkedIn and other networking channels, screening prospects, and facilitating the scheduling of meetings. The Executive will work closely with both the Manager of Investor Relations and the VP of Accredited Investors to drive strategic growth in the firm’s investor base.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accredited Investor Outreach:
- Conduct targeted outreach to potential accredited investors, including high-net-worth individuals, family offices, and institutional investors.
- Develop and implement personalized outreach strategies to initiate relationships with prospective investors.
- Leverage multiple channels (primarily LinkedIn, email, phone calls, and networking events) to effectively engage with potential investors.
- LinkedIn Engagement:
- Utilize LinkedIn as a key platform to identify, connect with, and engage accredited investor prospects.
- Develop and execute LinkedIn engagement strategies, such as personalized connection requests, direct messaging, and content sharing, to nurture relationships.
- Maintain a professional and credible LinkedIn profile that positions the firm as a trusted investment partner.
- Lead Qualification:
- Qualify incoming leads by assessing the investor’s accreditation status, investment interests, and fit with the firm’s offerings.
- Conduct discovery calls and initial meetings to understand the investor’s goals and investment preferences.
- Collect relevant investor data and ensure it’s accurately documented in the firm’s CRM system for follow-up and pipeline management.
- Pipeline Management:
- Manage and track prospects through the sales pipeline, ensuring timely follow-ups and progress through various stages (initial contact, interest, qualification, and meeting).
- Update and maintain accurate records of interactions, status updates, and next steps in the CRM system.
- Provide regular reports on pipeline activity, including lead volume, qualification rates, and conversion metrics, to the Manager of Investor Relations and VP of Accredited Investors.
- Meeting Scheduling:
- Schedule and coordinate meetings with qualified prospects for deeper engagement, including introductory calls, webinars, and in-person meetings (when applicable).
- Work with the VP of Accredited Investors and Manager of Investor Relations to ensure smooth scheduling, preparation, and execution of investor meetings.
- Confirm meetings and provide relevant materials to investors ahead of time to ensure productive discussions.
- Prospect Screening:
- Screen potential leads to determine their alignment with the firm’s investment strategies and investor requirements.
- Work closely with the Manager of Investor Relations and VP of Accredited Investors to assess which leads should be prioritized based on their potential value and fit for the firm.
- Conduct due diligence on prospects, ensuring they meet accreditation and compliance standards.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in business development, sales, or investor relations, preferably in private equity, investment banking, or financial services.
- Proven track record of sourcing and qualifying leads, particularly within the accredited investor space.
- Strong proficiency in using LinkedIn and other social media platforms for professional networking and lead generation.
- Familiarity with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) for tracking and managing leads and investor interactions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with high-net-worth individuals and institutional investors.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks, deadlines, and priorities.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while being self-driven and motivated to achieve targets.
