Description:
We are seeking a knowledgeable and experienced BMS BACnet Specialist to join our team. As a BACnet Specialist, you will be responsible for understanding and implementing BACnet protocol in building automation systems. Your expertise in BACnet will contribute to the successful integration and operation of our clients' building automation systems.
Responsibilities:
- BACnet Understanding: Possess a deep understanding of BACnet, including its acronym (Building Automation and Control Network), its purpose, and its role in building automation systems.
- Building Automation Integration: Integrate BACnet protocol into building automation systems, ensuring seamless communication and interoperability between devices.
- BACnet Objects and Services: Demonstrate proficiency in the concept of BACnet objects and services, understanding their purpose and utilization within building automation systems.
- BACnet Object Types: Familiarity with the different types of BACnet objects commonly used in building automation, including sensors, actuators, controllers, and more.
- MSTP Knowledge: Understand the concept of MSTP (Master-Slave/Token-Passing) and its relationship to BACnet, including the MSTP physical layer and its advantages in building automation.
- BACnet/IP, Modbus RTU/TCP, and BACnet MSTP: Highlight the key differences between BACnet/IP and BACnet MSTP, including their respective protocols and implementation considerations.
- BACnet Device Profiles: Knowledge of BACnet device profiles and their significance in ensuring interoperability between different BACnet devices.
- Network Management and Device Discovery: Proficiently handles BACnet network management tasks and device discovery processes, ensuring the smooth operation of building automation systems.
- BACnet Communication: Describe the process of BACnet communication, including the various message types used for data exchange between devices.
- BACnet Network Variables: Understand the concept of BACnet network variables (BV) and their application in data exchange between BACnet devices.
- Alarm and Event Management: Demonstrate expertise in how BACnet supports alarm and event management in building automation systems, enabling efficient monitoring and response.
- BACnet Services: Understand BACnet services and their role in interacting with BACnet devices, including device configuration, read/write operations, and more.
- BACnet Object Properties: Familiarity with BACnet object properties and their significance in data representation, ensuring accurate and meaningful information exchange.
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience working with BACnet protocol and building automation systems.
- BACnet Certification: Preferred certification in BACnet protocol and related technologies.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in BACnet protocol implementation, network management, device discovery, and communication. Strong knowledge of BACnet object types, MSTP, and BACnet/IP. Familiarity with BACnet device profiles, network variables, alarm/event management, and object properties.
- Problem-solving: Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve BACnet-related issues effectively.
