Azure Sql Database Administrator

Description:

As a Microsoft SQL Database Administrator, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and optimization of our Microsoft SQL Server databases hosted on Azure. You will play a critical role in ensuring the performance, availability, and security of our database systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in SQL Server administration, coupled with expertise in managing cloud-based environments, particularly Azure.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement database solutions utilizing Microsoft SQL Server on Azure, ensuring high availability, scalability, and performance.

• Perform database administration tasks including installation, configuration, monitoring, backup, recovery, and troubleshooting.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand database requirements and provide technical guidance and support.

• Optimize database performance through tuning, indexing, partitioning, and other performance enhancement techniques.

• Implement and maintain database security measures to protect sensitive data.

• Conduct regular database health checks, performance monitoring, and capacity planning.

• Automate routine tasks and implement efficient database maintenance processes.

• Stay updated with the latest trends and best practices in database administration and Azure technologies.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

• Proven experience as a Microsoft SQL Server Database Administrator, with a minimum of 5 years of experience.

• In-depth knowledge of SQL Server architecture, administration, and performance tuning.

• Hands-on experience with Azure services, particularly Azure SQL Database, Azure SQL Managed Instance, and Azure Virtual Machines.

• Strong understanding of database security principles and best practices.

• Proficiency in T-SQL scripting and PowerShell scripting for automation.

• Experience with high availability solutions such as Always On Availability Groups and database mirroring.

• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot database-related issues.

• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
