Assistant Project Manager

Description:

We are seeking an experienced HVAC Assistant Project Manager to oversee our mechanical contracting projects. The ideal candidate will have 4-5 years of experience in a HVAC APM position, preferably with a mechanical contractor. They will be responsible for reviewing schedules for each job and generating a two-week look ahead, tracking job costs and budgets weekly, and negotiating change orders with owners and general contractors. Additionally, this person will have strong knowledge of the sequence of operations to schedule work.

Responsibilities:

Project Management Support:

• Assist the project manager in planning, organising, and overseeing HVAC projects.
• Proactively monitor project progress and identify potential issues or delays.
• Review schedules for each job and generate a two-week look ahead
• Track job costs and budgets weekly and discuss variances with owner
• Coordination and Communication:
• Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.
• Maintain effective communication channels with clients, contractors, and team members.
• Reporting and Updates:
• Provide timely updates and reports on project status to the project manager.
• Assist in budgeting, cost control, and resource allocation for HVAC projects.
• Compliance and Conflict Resolution:
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality standards.
• Support the project manager in resolving any project-related conflicts or challenges.
