Description:
Key Responsibilities:
- Procurement of Yarn & Weaving Supplies
- Identify reliable vendors and suppliers for yarn and weaving-related materials.
- Procure different types of yarn (cotton, synthetic, blended) based on production requirements.
- Maintain optimal inventory levels of raw materials to ensure uninterrupted production.
- Handle local and international procurement (if applicable) to secure competitive pricing.
- Vendor Management & Supplier Relations
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing vendors and identify new suppliers.
- Negotiate price, payment terms, and delivery timelines to secure favorable contracts.
- Evaluate vendor performance based on quality, delivery, and cost parameters.
- Inventory & Cost Management
- Monitor stock levels and coordinate with production to avoid shortages or excess inventory.
- Work closely with the finance team to control procurement costs and stay within budget.
- Forecast demand for raw materials and align procurement accordingly to avoid bottlenecks.
- Quality Control and Compliance
- Coordinate with the quality control team to ensure procured materials meet required standards.
- Handle claims or replacements for defective materials from vendors.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and company policies in the procurement process.
- Coordination with Production & Logistics
- Collaborate with the production team to understand material requirements and timelines.
- Ensure on-time deliveries by coordinating with the logistics department and suppliers.
- Resolve issues related to supply chain disruptions and delays efficiently.
- Reporting and Documentation
- Maintain accurate records of purchase orders, contracts, and vendor agreements.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly procurement reports on spending, inventory, and supplier performance.
- Use ERP systems to manage procurement data and generate reports.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Textile Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of procurement experience, preferably in the textile industry (spinning/weaving).
- Hands-on experience with yarn markets and weaving material sourcing.
- Knowledge of local and international procurement practices.
