Am System And Network Administrator

 

Description:

We are seeking a skilled and proactive IT System and Network Administrator to manage, maintain, and optimize our organization's IT infrastructure. This role involves overseeing system operations, network security, database management, and development environments. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and the ability to support a range of IT functions.

 

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in systems and network administration, database management, data center and IT infrastructure.
• Strong knowledge of operating systems (Windows, Linux), networking protocols, and database management systems (SQL, MySQL).
• Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) and cloud platforms.
• Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills.

 

Key Responsibilities:

1 Server Administration:

This function includes the following roles and responsibilities:

o Manage, monitor, and maintain servers, operating systems, and IT hardware on hybrid infrastructure.

o Perform regular updates, backups, and patches to ensure optimal system performance.

o Troubleshoot and resolve system-related issues in a timely manner.

o Ensure high availability of systems and services across the organization.

Storage Administration:

o Administer, configure, and maintain storage systems (SAN, NAS, DAS, Tape).

o Administer, configure and maintain SAN storage switches.

o Monitor storage performance, capacity, and utilization; implement optimization strategies.

o Manage data storage allocation, thin provisioning, deduplication, and compression.

o Ensure high availability and reliability of storage environments.

o Configure, manage, and monitor backup solutions (e.g., Veeam, VeeamOne).

o Ensure all critical data is backed up according to defined schedules and policies.

 

2 Network Management:

This function includes the following roles and responsibilities:

o Design, configure, and maintain LAN/WAN and VPN connections.

o Monitor network performance and optimize network traffic.

o Implement network security protocols to protect data and systems.

o Troubleshoot network issues and ensure minimal downtime.

Security & Compliance:

o Implement and enforce security policies across systems, networks, and databases.

o Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments.

o Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations

 

Passive Infrastructure

o Respond to incidents involving passive equipment, such as genset issues, power failures, or cable damage.

o Perform routine maintenance and inspections to prevent equipment failures and downtime.

o Ensure optimal temperature and humidity levels within the data center to prevent equipment overheating.

o Assist in the implementation of environmental monitoring systems for proactive maintenance.

 

3 Database Management:

This function includes the following roles and responsibilities:

o Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of database systems (SQL, MySql, etc.).

o Ensure database performance, availability, and security.

o Perform regular backups and implement disaster recovery solutions.

o Collaborate with development teams to optimize database queries and structures.

Development Support:

o Manage and modify website content as well as email services.

o Collaborate with development teams to provide infrastructure support for application deployments.

o Manage development environments, including staging and production systems.

o Support software development by ensuring smooth integration between systems and development tools.
