Description:

LUMS is looking for a dynamic and results-driven Team Lead – Academic Affairs for the Syed Babar Ali School of Science and Engineering (SBASSE). This leadership role focuses on overseeing academic processes, supporting student progression, and ensuring a high-quality student experience.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Leadership & Strategy

✅ Drive academic improvements and innovations in advising, enrollment, and student support initiatives.
✅ Develop strategies to support probationary, undeclared, and re-admitted students.
✅ Contribute to the strategic planning and development of the Office of Academic Affairs and Advising.
✅ Implement policies to streamline academic processes and improve team efficiency.

2. Academic Affairs Management

✅ Serve as the primary liaison with the Departments of Biology, Chemistry & Chemical Engineering, and Electrical Engineering.
✅ Supervise enrollment management, pre-registration, and course planning.
✅ Handle complex enrollment processes such as force enrollments and add/drop requests.

3. Student Academic Support

✅ Provide direct academic advising on policies, course selection, and degree requirements.
✅ Verify degree requirements for juniors and oversee major declarations and transfers.
✅ Coordinate with the Advisement team for students requiring additional support (e.g., disabilities or declining GPAs).

4. Event Planning & Oversight

✅ Lead and execute key academic events such as Major Day, Orientation Week, Convocation, and DHL events.
✅ Oversee logistics, scheduling, venue coordination, and participant engagement.

5. Administrative Oversight

✅ Maintain accurate student records while ensuring compliance with LUMS regulations.
✅ Engage with parents when necessary, balancing communication and student privacy.
✅ Collaborate with departments like OSA and RO to resolve academic queries effectively.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Administration or a related field.
5+ years of experience in a similar academic administration role.
✔ Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
✔ Proven ability to manage teams, coordinate processes, and enhance student success initiatives.
✔ High organizational efficiency and ability to prospect and engage stakeholders.

Work Schedule & Travel

⏳ Standard business hours (8:30 AM – 5:00 PM), with occasional evenings and weekends for academic events.
🚗 Travel may be required as per work demands.
